ULMA channels at the Coach Museum in Lisbon

The National Coach Museum (Museu Nacional dos Coches) is one of the most visited museums in Portugal. Since May 2015, it has divided its collection between two buildings, one in a historical location, and the other with a modern design, the Novo Museu dos Coches (New Coach Museum), alongside the Belem gardens. It is in the vicinity of this modern building where the work has been carried out by the renowned construction company Mota-Engil, one of the most outstanding companies in Portugal, with 70 years of experience in Engineering and Construction.

We used the URBAN range of drainage channels, the U100 channel to be exact, with a 0.5% slope and a stainless steel single-slot grating. This range of trench drains was the best choice for the project as it is ideal for pedestrian areas, developments, etc., in short, for places without excessive demand for load resistance or heavy vehicle traffic. In addition, the 0.5% slope incorporated will help drainage since the areas outside the museum do not have a natural slope.

The single-slot grating was the aesthetic and functional solution. This model was chosen due to its high drainage capacity and its aesthetic integration in the pavement. In order to meet the customer's needs, ULMA Architectural Solutions designed a special stainless steel piece for this project.
